2024 DUI Case Results
The following are some of the results Jay Norton obtained for clients in DUI cases in 2024. This list only includes DUI cases and not any of the results obtained in defending other types of cases. Also, this list only includes DUI cases that resulted in dismissals or acquittals and does not include the favorable results obtained for clients that involved resolution by plea or diversion. It is extremely important to remember, though, that past performance does not guarantee or predict future results. Every case is different, and each must be judged on its own merits. No expectation of similar results in other cases should be implied by this information.
City of Wellsville v. J.C.: Client was asleep in vehicle with their foot on the brake and an open container of alcohol. The DUI was dismissed prior to a trial.
City of DeSoto v. B.H.: Client was stopped for traffic violations and failed field sobriety tests. Found Not Guilty after a trial.
City of Roeland Park v. A.M.: Client was stopped for being a suspicious vehicle and was eventually arrested for DUI and MIP. At the station, the client blew a .098. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
City of Roeland Park v. F.M.: Client was stopped for being a suspicious vehicle and found to have an open container in the vehicle. Arrested for DUI and MIP. DUI charge dismissed prior to trial.
City of Merriam v. J.B.: Client stopped for traffic infraction. Arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana after field sobriety tests. All charges dismissed prior to trial.
City of Merriam v. K.P.: Client arrested for DUI and a blood test showed he was positive for Lorazepam. DUI was dismissed before trial.
City of Overland Park v. S.K.: Client stopped for driving into a closed road. After field sobriety tests, they were arrested for DUI and blew .14 at the station. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
City of Lawrence v. N.T.: Client wrecked a vehicle on the campus of KU and was arrested for DUI. Case was dismissed prior to trial.
City of Gardner v. B.M.: Client stopped for speeding and arrested for DUI after field sobriety tests. At the station the client blew a .082. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
State of Kansas v. L.P.: Client was stopped in Prairie Village and arrested after field sobriety tests. A test of her blood revealed alcohol, cannabis and Xanax. Felony DUI charge in Johnson County District Court was dismissed prior to trial.
City of Overland Park v. M.D.: Client was involved in car accident and given field sobriety tests. A test of his breath revealed a .207 BAC. He was found Not Guilty of DUI after a trial.
City of Overland Park v. R.M.: Client was stopped for traffic infractions and given field sobriety tests. Two breath tests determined his BAC to be .154 and .132 several minutes apart. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
City of Louisburg v. P.B.: Client wrecked into a transformer box knocking out electricity for an entire neighborhood. A subsequent blood test revealed a BAC of .270. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
State of Kansas v. T.Q.: Client was arrested in a domestic violence situation after driving away from the alleged scene. He was charged with DUI and Possessing a Firearm Under the Influence. He was given a blood test. DUI and all other charges were dismissed in Johnson County District Court before trial.
State of Kansas v. A.C.: Client arrested for DUI after field sobriety tests. A breath test at the jail showed a BAC of .09. The DUI was dismissed in Johnson County District Court prior to the trial date.
State of Kansas v. E.L.: Client stopped for driving without headlights. After field sobriety tests, client was arrested for DUI and Child Endangerment. All charges dismissed in Johnson County District Court prior to trial.
State of Kansas v. C.S.: Client stopped for traffic infractions and arrested for DUI after field sobriety tests. Found Not Guilty after a trial in Johnson County District Court.
City of Gardner v. B.S.: Client found Not Guilty of DUI at trial.
State of Kansas v. A.H.: Client stopped for traffic violations on K-7 and given field sobriety tests. DUI dismissed from Johnson County District Court.
City of Overland Park v. W.O.: Client found asleep in a car on median in road. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
State of Kansas v. M.G.: Client stopped by police in Lenexa for multiple traffic violations. Charged with a felony DUI. Charges dismissed in Johnson County District Court prior to trial.
City of Overland Park v. J.A.: Client involved in a single car accident on highway. A blood test revealed a BAC of .11. Found Not Guilty after trial.
City of Leavenworth v. J.W.: Client involved in an injury accident and submitted to a blood test that was .20 and had medications present. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
State of Kansas v. B.C.: Client stopped for speeding and arrested after field sobriety tests. He submitted to a Drug Recognition Examination and his blood was positive for alcohol and Xanax. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
City of Olathe v. J.S.: Client arrested after field sobriety tests. A breath test at the station was .169. DUI dismissed prior to trial.
