The Pitch Weekly published an article today about Kansas City checklanes and the people that protest them. I was quoted briefly in the article. The article is a good run-down of the arguments, pro and con, surrounding DUI roadblocks. I have blogged frequently about DUI checklanes, my dislike of them, and their ineffectiveness. However, I am in no way related to or in leauge with the people that are showing up to protest the checklanes or sending out location information via Twitter. I do support their right to exercise free speech and agree with their objections to checklanes on a constitutional basis. But, I don’t know any of the people discussed in the article or what they are about otherwise.
