Police Break Man’s Leg Trying to get his Blood

I haven’t blogged in awhile. We have been too busy. There has been a lot happening in the Kansas DUI world, so I will try to get to it all soon. Meanwhile, in Pasadena, Texas 9 police officers were stomping on a guy who was afraid of needles. The man was involved in an accident that was not his fault. A police officer suspected him of drinking but did not give him field sobriety tests. He just arrested the guy and took him to the station where the man refused to take a blood test. He was afraid of needles and begged for some other way to prove that he was not intoxicated. The police forced him into a restraint chair and then things got ugly. The man is accused of resisting the officers and 9 of them hit and kick the man, eventually breaking his leg in the fracas. With the 9 officers holding the man down on the floor of the police department, a “nurse” sticks him with the needle and takes his blood. Was it really that important to get the guy’s blood that they had to break his leg to do it? Forced blood draws are happening more and more around the country and it may only be a matter of time before the Kansas DUI laws are changed to allow them here. This video is a good example of why they are a bad idea.
