On the night of Friday, August 22 into the early morning hours of August 23, 2013 the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department conducted a DUI checklane in Shawnee, Kansas with the Shawnee Police Department and, no doubt, dozens of officers from other jurisdictions there to pick up some overtime. 95 cars were stopped. There were 0 DUI arrests. None. I am sure that the area where this checklane was set up was described as an area “known for drunk drivers.” Oops.
